Stearns has created environmental projects such as a floating wildlife island, bird perches, prayer markers, and pieces including oversized fabric compost and marine life. Pieces on climate change feature a “Worry-Wart Diary” and humorous and provocative future scenarios, as well as a Day of the Dead Altar honoring the Extinct.
